Another frequent and related question is "Where is home?" After much thought and family discussion the appropriate response is wherever the family is living, with emphasis on family. We have places where we grew up, where we have relatives and where we have friends but home is where we are as a family. When we return to previous home locations we quickly realize that things have changed, cities changed, our friends changed and we changed. On one such recent trip our son had a profound response, "It is a familiar place."
I am a trailing husband following my wife where her work takes us. I am now living in my fourth country. My profession is a secondary math/physics teacher. As a family we have become travel fanatics. My goal for this blog is to discuss being a trailing husband and traveler.

Homeless?
A frequent question I get is "Where are you from?" My response depends on the context of the situation. The fun response is "Fontainebleau, France"; not the expected response and often prompts a puzzled look. Without going into an abridged autobiography the fun response is my favorite as it is quick, accurate and provides me a little entertainment.
